Gait Up Teams Up with MedRhythms, Leader in Digital Therapeutics and Neurologic Music Therapy!
Gait Up is delighted to announce its new collaboration with MedRhythms, a leading digital therapeutics company based in Portland, Maine USA. MedRhythms is treating patients who suffer from neurological injuries and disease with interventions that measure and improve walking based on the neuroscience of music. With this new partnership, MedRhythms integrates Gait Up’s proprietary sensors, Physilog®, and algorithm into their digital therapeutics platform to detect users’ clinical-grade biomechanics. Gait metrics provided by Gait Up enable music augmentation in real-time via MedRhythms’ clinical thinking algorithms as well as medical-grade data assessments, two core features of MedRhythms’ personalized therapy.
Founded in 2015, the company began as a therapy services company that launched out of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, which the U.S. News & World Report named the No. 3 rehabilitation hospital in the country. MedRhythms raised a $5MM oversubscribed Series A Financing in 2018 to accelerate its growth by building an innovative digital therapeutics platform for walking. This platform is a highly scalable solution for personalized closed-loop gait training based on Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS), which is traditionally delivered by Neurologic Music Therapists (NMTs) to help people walk better. Their first product focuses on post-stroke recovery, while they are actively seeking partnerships existing pipeline products focused on neurologic injury or disease.
“This successful partnership with MedRhythms is representative of the “powered by Gait Up” partnership program we initiated. It’s a win-win collaboration where we bring our technology in combination with a great application. Our field-proven gait sensing algorithm speeds up the development of MedRhythms’ innovative solution, while they enable us to reach the field of digital rehabilitation. We are looking forward to seeing more and more people treated efficiently with this amazing solution which has shown outstanding clinical results,” says Benoît Mariani, the CEO of Gait Up.
“Based on our evaluation, we’ve never seen an inertial measurement system this accurate,” says Eric Richardson, VP of Product Development at MedRhythms.
